What is the Mortgage Protection Plan?
The Mortgage Protection Plan covers the life assured for death or disability while they are repaying a mortgage.
- Total and Permanent Disability Cover: An amount equal to the death benefit sum assured will be paid to you in the event that you become permanently and totally disabled as a result of illness or accident.
- Temporary Total Disability Cover: This benefit is payable if a member becomes wholly but temporarily incapacitated by bodily injury following his usual occupation hence unable to earn an income.
In the event of death or total disability of the insured, Old Mutual Ghana will pay the outstanding loan amount, which will give your family the peace of mind that they will not be rendered homeless when a financial institution comes calling.

- Submit the original death certificate or medical report in the event of a disability.
- Provide the burial permit of the deceased.
- Submit original ID or Birth certificate
- Provide a marriage certificate in case of spouses.
- Submit police abstract if the death is a result of a road traffic accident, murder assault or sudden death( all documents must be duly certified)
